20 Ways To Make Your Life Simpler and Easier
We all need to make our lives a bit easier and simpler. This year, during the pandemic and the lockdowns I have reached a point where I need my life to be easier... and planning my days and weeks, has helped me a lot with that.
Before starting following a plan, I was trying to do many things at the same time and the only thing this brought me, was a list of unfinished things and fatigue.
Starting this blog is my way to let you know what works for me and many people and can help you make your life better! So, let's see 20 simple steps that will make you feel more relaxed, productive, and effective.
1. Meal Planning
Every week look at your planner so you know what's happening. Schedule your menu ahead and shop (if possible online... because except for the pandemic, saves time).
2. Declutter your space
Get rid of things you don't need, make more space - it makes it easier to keep it clean and tidy.
You deserve to live in a tidy and clean home!
3. Don't be afraid to say no
If this year taught us something is that we should not put pressure on ourselves to do or accept things that either are not good for us, or important! So, if you don't want to do something, just say no and own it!
4. Declutter your wardrobe
I know it's not that easy, but there's no point in keeping clothes that don't fit you or are in a bad shape.
Repurpose, repair if it's possible, donate or throw them away if they're not in good enough shape to donate them.
Ok, ok! You can keep some pieces you love too much, make you feel good, or have a huge emotional meaning to you. Nope, that doesn't include your ex's hoodie. Throw that away RIGHT NOW!
5. The Paper Clutter
Here we go, we all have too many papers that we do not need.
Get some files and organize your stuff and shred the rest.
Tip: If you have a scanner, scan the most important files and save them into a drive, or memory stick, so you don't worry about losing them or spill something over these files.
I do that and to be honest, I do that with my medical history, bills, etc. It saves so much time to find them, and keeping track of anything is so much easier.
6. Keep Your Home Tidy
Put things away often through the day and encourage your family to do the same and help you with tidying up.
7. Manage your time
find ways to be more productive and efficient. Don't waste time doing things that don't matter or trying to do a lot of things at the same time. Even though many people think multitasking saves time, the truth is that it's more possible to lose your concentration when you're doing many things. Focusing on one thing at a time and be intentional about how you're gonna spend your time in a day, is the best solution to avoid getting overwhelmed.
8. Track your finances
Map your monthly income and keep track of your expenses. Set a plan to help you save more.
9. Your evening routine
Prepare for the next day, exercise, and the most important, relax before bed.
10. Your morning routine
Create a morning routine that sets you up for the day ahead.
11. Health and Fitness
Healthy eating and exercise shouldn't be complicated or hard. Set realistic goals and find simple ways to make your diet healthier and your working out more fun!
12. Declutter your mind
Home isn't the only thing that needs declutter, the mind needs it too!
A good idea is to write down your thoughts and observe them. Get clarity and develop action points.
13. Relationships
Like everything else, relationships need to work to be successful. Invest your time and energy in those who matter.
14. Self-care
You need to understand that self-care isn't an egoistic act, but actually an essential procedure and self-respect. We need to take care of ourselves before we try to take care of anything or anyone else.
"You can't pour from an empty cup." Put yourself first, you are important.
15. Get Organized
Cut out the stress. Set up a plan and prepare.
As an example, if you have a solid diet plan, find a day to do your groceries and prep the food to save some time through the week.
16. Houseworks
Establish simple routines to keep your home clean, and as I said before, plan and prepare huge assets here too!
17. Your daily routine
Find fun ways to do what you need to do as well as what you want to do. Create a flexible daily routine that will keep you on track.
18. The Daily Clutter
Either is physical or emotional, clutter needs to get cleared up from time to time.
You can start from your bad or wallet and end up writing down the emotions you experienced through the day and try to understand them and stop burring them inside you.
19. Check your expectations
Having big dreams and working for them is amazing and vital if you ask me. Although, I would recommend keeping your expectations as realistic as possible and of course to focus on your priorities.
20. Leave behind things that weigh you down
Make your life count. Do things you love. Learn to let go of things, situations, and people that don't serve you and give you hard time.
